[edit]Inherited from Prakrit 𑀕𑀚𑁆𑀚𑀭 (gajjara), from Sanskrit ଗାର୍ଜର (gārjara)[1] (compare Classical Persian گزر (gazar)). Doublet of ଗର୍ଜର (garjara). Cognate with Hindustani گَاجَر (gājar) / गाजर (gājar).
