Cognate with Assamese খা (kha), Bengali খাওয়া (khaōẇa), Bhojpuri खाईल (khāīl), Gujarati ખાવું (khāvũ), Hindustani खाना / کھانا (khānā), Nepali खानु (khānu), Marwari खाणौ (khāṇau), Punjabi ਖਾਣਾ (khāṇā) / کھانا (khānā), Romani xal, Sindhi کائڻ / खाइणु (khāiṇu).
