Inherited from Paisaci Prakrit [Term?] (compare Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀲𑀸𑀭 (sāra, “all, whole”)), from Sanskrit सार (sā́ra, “best part”). Cognate with Hindi सारा (sārā).
