Inherited from Prakrit 𑀆𑀭𑀸𑀫𑀺𑀅 (ārāmia), from Sanskrit आरामिक (ārāmika, gardener). Cognate with Gujarati રામી (rāmī) and Sindhi آرائيِ (ārā̃ī).
