Etymology

Borrowed from Classical Persian بی‌شمار (bē-šumār). By surface analysis, ਬੇ- (be-) +‎ ਸੁਮਾਰੁ (sumāru).

  1. innumerable, incalculable, infinite, inestimable, not to be reckoned (of God)

      ਨਿਹਚਲ ਆਸਨੁ ਬੇਸੁਮਾਰੁ
      nihacala āsanu besumāru.
