[edit]Inherited from Prakrit 𑀧𑀯𑀸𑀬 (pavāya) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀟- (-ḍa-) + -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit प्रवाद (pravāda). Cognate with Old Marathi 𑘢𑘪𑘰𑘚𑘰 (pavāḍā).
