[edit]Borrowed from Classical Persian تماشا (tamāšā, “amusement, pleasure”), from Arabic تَمَشَّى (tamaššā, “stroll”). Cognate with Bhojpuri तमासा (tamāsā), Hindustani تماشہ / तमाशा (tamāśā), Malayalam തമാശ (tamāśa).
