Borrowed from Classical Persian ترازو (tarāzū), from Middle Persian [Term?] (/⁠tarāzūg⁠/, scales) (compare Parthian [script needed] (talāzūg)), borrowed from Avestan 𐬙𐬀𐬭𐬀.𐬀𐬰𐬎 (tara.azu). Doublet of তুলা (tula). Compare Gujarati ત્રાજવું (trājvũ), Hindi तराज़ू (tarāzū), Marathi तराजू (tarājū), Odia ତରାଜୁ (tôraju), Macedonian терезија (terezija), Thai ตราชู (dtraa-chuu), and Turkish terazi.
