Borrowed from Classical Persian قیامت (qiyāmat), from Arabic قِيَامَة (qiyāma, resurrection; upheaval). Cognate with Assamese কিয়ামত (kiamot), Hindustani قیامت / क़यामत (qayāmat), Gujarati કયામત (kayāmat), Punjabi ਕਿਆਮਤ (kiāmat).
