[edit]Inherited from Sanskrit *उद्धाव (uddhāva, “act of running away”) (or from a derivative *उद्धावुक (uddhāvuka)), from उद्- (ud-, “over”) + *धाव (dhāva, “running”), ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *dʰew- (“to run, flow”). Doublet of ধাবন (dhabon), ধাওয়া (dhaōẇa), ধোয়া (dhōẇa), ধোবা (dhōba), and ধোপা (dhōpa).
