Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Prakrit 𑀉𑀆𑀭𑀻 (uārī), 𑀑𑀆𑀭𑀻 (oārī), syncopated from earlier 𑀉𑀯𑀬𑀸𑀭𑀻 (uvayārī), from Sanskrit उपकारी (upakārī), the feminine form of उपकार (upakāra, “benefit, use; decoration, embellishment (as a gate with garlands)”).
