Derived from Sanskrit अक्षिण्ण (akṣiṇṇa). Structurally, from Bahuvrīhi compound of অ- (o-) +‎ ক্ষিণ্ণ (khinnô), or, by Bengali prefixation of অ- (o-) +‎ ক্ষিণ্ণ (khinnô).
