Etymology

Borrowed from Classical Persian هرگز (hargiz), from Middle Persian 𐭧𐭪𐭫𐭰 (ḥklc /⁠hagriz⁠/), from Old Persian 𐏃𐎣𐎼𐎶𐎨𐎡𐎹 (h-k-r-m-c-i-y /⁠hakara-mciy⁠/), the first part from Proto-Indo-European *sm̥-kr̥t.
