      Inherited from Prakrit 𑀲𑀼𑀓𑁆𑀔 (sukkha) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit शुष्क (śuṣka). Cognate with Latin siccus, Russian сухой (suxoj). Doublet of शुष्क (śuṣk) and ख़ुश्क (xuśk).
