Etymology

Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘫𑘹𑘕𑘰𑘨 (śejāra),[1] from Prakrit 𑀲𑀇𑀚𑁆𑀛𑀺𑀅 (saïjjhia), from Sanskrit *सगृह्य (sagṛhya).[2] Cognate with Konkani शेजार (śejār).
