Etymology
[edit]Vṛddhi derivative of शरद् (śarad). Inherited from Proto-Indo-Aryan *śāradás, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *ćāradás, possibly from Proto-Indo-European *ḱelh₁- (“to warm up, be hot”) (compare Latin caleō (“to be warm”)).
