[edit]Derived from Prakrit *𑀮𑀻𑀓𑁆𑀓𑀸 f (*līkkā, “track, line”), whence Punjabi ਲੀਕ (līk, “line”) and Gujarati લીક (līk). Of unclear relation to लेखा (lekhā), रेखा (rekhā), and लकीर (lakīr).
