1. a particular drug or medicinal substance (said to be fragrant, but bitter and slightly pungent in taste, and of greyish colour ; cf. रेणु) L.
2. name of a कारिका (composed by हरि-हर ; cf. रेणु-कारिका) Cat.
3. (Hinduism) Name of the wife of जमद्-अग्नि and mother of परशुराम (she was the daughter of रेणु and of king प्रसेन-जित्) MBh. Hariv. Pur.
4. name of a river VP.
