[edit]Inherited from Sanskrit रक्तालु (raktālu) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-). Cognate with Gujarati રતાળુ (ratāḷu), Hindustani رَتَالُو (ratālū) / रतालू (ratālū), Sindhi رَتالُو / रतालू, Punjabi ਰਤਾਲੂ (ratālū) / رَتالُو (ratālū), Maithili रतारु (ratārʉ) / 𑒩𑒞𑒰𑒩𑒳 (ratāru).
