[edit]From Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hráȷ́ištʰas, from Proto-Indo-European *h₃réǵ-isth₂-o-s, from *h₃reǵ- (“straight”). Cognate with Avestan 𐬭𐬀𐬰𐬌𐬱𐬙𐬀 (razišta, “straightest”).
