Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Indo-Iranian *HyuHatáH (“youth”), from Proto-Indo-European *h₂yuHn̥téh₂ (“youth”). Cognate with Latin iuventa, Gothic 𐌾𐌿𐌽𐌳𐌰 (junda). By surface analysis, युवन् (yuvan) + ता (tā).
