Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Indo-European *mews- (“to steal, take; move”) from *m(y)ewh₁- (“to move”). Cognate with Latin moveō (“move”) whence English move, motion, etc. Connected with Sanskrit मूष (mūṣa, “mouse, i.e., stealer”).
