Etymology

Borrowed from Classical Persian مصری (misrī), from Arabic مِصْرِيّ (miṣriyy). By surface analysis, मिस्र (misra, Egypt) +‎ -ई (). The third part of speech sense is named for Egyptian exports of sugar in the pre-modern era.
