      नवकोटी नामि भणूं मारूआडि घण देस।
      धण कण घरि सविकहि तणइ कप्पड कणय सुबेस॥
      navakoṭī nāmi bhaṇūṃ mārūāḍi ghaṇa desa.
      dhaṇa kaṇa ghari savikahi taṇaï kappaḍa kaṇaya subesa.

        I now describe Mārūāḍi (Mārwār), which has nine forts [Jālor being one of the most illustrious of these].
        It is a plentiful country where in every home there is wealth and grain and people have gold embroidered beautiful dresses to wear.
