Borrowed from Classical Persian ممنون (mamnūn), from Arabic مَمْنُون (mamnūn), passive participle of the verb مَنَّ (manna, to be gracious). Compare Punjabi ਮਮਨੂਨ (mamnūn) / مَمنون (mamnon).
