[edit]Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘢𑘻𑘎𑘯 (pokaḷa). Related to पोकळी (pokḷī, “emptiness, vacuum”), फुकट (phukaṭ). Cognate with Gujarati પોકળ (pokaḷ).
