Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘢𑘹𑘙 (peṭha), from Prakrit 𑀧𑀇𑀝𑁆𑀞𑀸 (païṭṭhā), from Sanskrit प्रतिष्ठा (pratiṣṭhā́). Doublet of प्रतिष्ठा (pratiṣṭhā).
