Inherited from Prakrit 𑀧𑀁𑀕𑀼𑀭𑀇 (paṃguraï), from Ashokan Prakrit *𑀧𑀁𑀕𑀼𑀭 (*paṃgura). Cognate with Marathi पांघरणे (pāṅgharṇe).
