[edit]Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘠𑘚𑘎𑘜𑘹 (dhaḍakaṇe) (with Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓𑁆𑀓- (-kka-)). Related to धडक (dhaḍak). Compare Gujarati ધડકવું (dhaḍakvũ), Hindustani دَھڑَکْنَا (dhaṛaknā) / धड़कना (dhaṛaknā), Sindhi ڌَڙْڪَڻُ / धड़कणु, Punjabi ਧੜਕਣਾ (dhaṛkaṇā) / دھڑکݨا (dhṛkṇā).
