[edit]Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘟𑘹𑘨 (dera), from Prakrit 𑀤𑁂𑀯𑀭 (devara), from Sanskrit देवर (devará), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *daHiwará-, from Proto-Indo-European *dayh₂wḗr. Doublet of देवर (devar). Cognate with Gujarati દિયર (diyar).
