Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀤𑀺𑀠 (diḍha), from Sanskrit दृढ (dṛḍha), from Proto-Indo-Aryan *dr̥ẓḍʰás, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *dʰr̥ždʰás (firm, steadfast), from Proto-Indo-European *dʰr̥ǵʰtós, from *dʰerǵʰ- (to be firm). Doublet of दृढ़ (dŕṛh), a tatsama.
