[edit]Inherited from Ashokan Prakrit *𑀣𑁄𑀩𑁆𑀩 (*thobba) (compare Old Marathi 𑘞𑘻𑘤𑘚 (thobaḍa, “insipid, tasteless; small”), Sanskrit स्तुव (stuva, “particular part of the head of a horse”)). Compare Hindustani تھوبْڑَا (thobṛā) / थोबड़ा (thobṛā).
