Inherited from Prakrit 𑀢𑁄𑀮𑀇 (tolaï), 𑀢𑁄𑀮𑁂𑀇 (tolei), from Sanskrit तोलयति (tolayati). Compare Old Punjabi ਤੋਲਿ (toli), Old Gujarati तोलइ (tolaï), Old Marathi 𑘝𑘻𑘩𑘜𑘹 (tolaṇe).
