[edit]Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘕𑘰𑘽𑘥𑘺 (jāṃbhai), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀚𑀁𑀪𑀸𑀇𑀅 (jaṃbhāia), ultimately deriving from Sanskrit जृम्भ् (jṛmbh, “to yawn”, root). Cognate with Hindi जँभाई (jambhāī).
