Borrowed from Classical Persian زنبورک (zanburak), from زنبور (zanbur, wasp) + ـک (-ak, diminutive suffix), from Arabic زَنْبُور (zanbūr), an alternative pronunciation of Modern Standard Arabic زُنْبُور (zunbūr, hornet), ultimately from Aramaic זבּור (zibbūr, hornet).
