[edit]From Proto-Indo-Aryan *ȷ́áźʰakas, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *ǰáǰʰukas, possibly from the BMAC substrate. Cognate with Younger Avestan 𐬛𐬎𐬲𐬀𐬐𐬀 (dužaka), Middle Persian zwzk' (zūzag), Northern Kurdish jûjî.
