[edit]Inherited from Proto-Dravidian *cīntu. Cognate with Malayalam ഈന്ത് (īntŭ), Kannada ಈಚಲು (īcalu), Kui (India) ସୀତା (sīta), Kurukh कींदा (kī̃ndā), Kuvi ସୀନ୍ଦି (sīndi), Gondi సీంది (sīndi), Tamil ஈச்சம் (īccam), Telugu ఈత (īta), Bengali হেঁতাল (hẽtal) and Sanskrit हिन्ताल (hintāla).
