Etymology
[edit]Borrowed from Dravidian, ultimately from Proto-Dravidian *cintta.[1][2] Compare चुञ्चुरी ~ चुञ्चुली (cuñcurī ~ cuñculī, “game played with tamarind seeds”), तिन्तिडी (tintiḍī, “tamarind”).[3]
