[edit]Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘓𑘲𑘏𑘩 (cīkhala), 𑘓𑘲𑘏𑘻𑘩 (cīkhola), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀘𑀺𑀓𑁆𑀔𑀺𑀮𑁆𑀮 (cikkhilla). Cognate with Gujarati ચિખલ (cikhal), Sinhalese සිකල් (sikal).
