[edit]Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘐𑘰𑘨𑘳𑘚𑘲 (gāruḍī), 𑘐𑘰𑘨𑘻𑘚𑘲 (gāroḍī), from Sanskrit गारुडिक (gāruḍika). Compare Gujarati ગારુડી (gāruḍī), Hindustani گاروڑی (gāroṛī) / गारुड़ी (gāruṛī), Sindhi گاروڙيِ / गारोड़ी, Marwari गारड़ी (gārṛī), गारुड़ी (gāruṛī), Odia ଗାରୁଡ଼ିଆ (gāruṛiā), Assamese গাৰুড়ি (garuri).
