Borrowed from Classical Persian خوشحالی (xʷušhālī). By surface analysis, खुशाल (khuśāl) +‎ -ई (-ī). Compare Hindi ख़ुशहाली (xuśhālī), Gujarati ખુશાલી (khuśālī), Punjabi ਖੁਸ਼ਹਾਲੀ (khuśhālī) / خوش حالی (xoś ḥālī).
