[edit]Inherited from Prakrit 𑀓𑀼𑀮𑁆𑀮𑀟 (kullaḍa, “small vessel”), from *𑀓𑀼𑀮𑁆𑀮 (*kulla) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀟- (-ḍa-), with ultimate etymology unknown.[1] Cognate with Gujarati કુલડો (kulḍo). Compare Sanskrit कुट (kuṭa, “pitcher”).
