[edit]Borrowed from Classical Persian قیچی (qayčī), from Chagatai [Term?], from Proto-Mongolic *kaïčï, compare Mongolian хайч (xajč). Compare Assamese কেঁচি (kẽsi), Bengali ক্যাঁয়চি (kễẏci).
