Borrowed from Classical Persian قَابِلِیَت (qābiliyat), from Arabic قَابِلِيَّة (qābiliyya), from the root ق ب ل (q b l). By surface analysis, क़ाबिल (qābil) +‎ -इयत (-iyat).
