Borrowed from Punjabi ਕੰਗਣ (kaṅgaṇ), ਕੰਗਨ (kaṅgan), from Prakrit 𑀓𑀁𑀓𑀡 (kaṃkaṇa), from Sanskrit कङ्कण (kaṅkaṇa). Doublet of ककना (kaknā).
