[edit]Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀆𑀠𑀢𑁆𑀢 (āḍhatta, “begun, undertaken”), the past participle of 𑀆𑀠𑀯𑀤𑀺 (āḍhavadi), from Sanskrit आधापयति (ādhāpayati, “causes to put”), from the root आधा (ādhā).
