Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hádʰwan (“road”), from Proto-Indo-European *h₁nedʰ-. Cognate with Avestan 𐬀𐬛𐬎𐬎𐬀𐬥 (aduuan, “road”), Ancient Greek ἐνθει̃ν (entheĩn, “to come”), Albanian endem.
