Borrowed from Classical Persian اژدها (aždahâ), from Middle Persian ʾcydhʾk' (az(i)dahāg), from Avestan 𐬀𐬲𐬌⸱𐬛𐬀𐬵𐬁𐬐𐬀 (aži.dahāka). Compare Bengali আজদাহা (ajdaha).
