Borrowed from Hindi पादरी (pādrī), from Portuguese padre. Compare Konkani पाद्रि (pādri), Malayalam പാതിരി (pātiri), Sinhalese පාදිලියා (pādiliyā), and Japanese 破天連(ばてれん) (Bateren)
