From Aramaic תְשַעְסַר (tšaʿsar). Equivalent to ܬܸܫܥܵܐ (tišʿā, nine) +‎ ܥܸܣܪܵܐ (ʿisrā, ten); compare Arabic تِسْعَةَ عَشَرَ (tisʕata ʕašara) and Hebrew תִּשְׁעָה עָשָׂר (tish'á 'asár)
